Riane’s father glanced out of his work room, stopped abruptly and turned to his daughter, gripping her shoulders tightly in his hands.
“Riane, hide and do not come out until I come for you.” He whispered in a worried tone, before turning back to the door and hurrying out to meet the three men. Riane immediately ran the opposite direction. The three men were busily acting casual and didn’t seem to notice the little girl in her soft shoes racing away from them.
