“You are dead, Riane!” Lexx half turned back to Riane, “I’m sorry you died! I can’t do anything to help you! I’m alive and I want to stay that way!” Lexx’s voice broke with exasperation. “The only way I can stay alive and enjoy my life is if I don’t say a word against the ADC!”
Riane took a step back, her form distorting and eyes fading into a brilliant white light.
“Wrong answer!” Riane snarled.
Lexx staggered back a few steps as shadows ripped out of the relay’s mental background and formed dark wings arcing over Riane’s rapidly fluctuating form.

Yeah, this isn't going to end up well for Lexx.
My own thoughts on the whole matter, well, can't state ALL of them, because they will be dealt with how they should be dealt with, but I don't feel you can judge a person on who/why/when they'll be willing to lay their life down. It's not like anyone is standing up for Lexx and volunteering to help keep him safe. ;) It's ALL ON HIM to protect himself. NOBODY else can do anything for him. Well, that's his impression of it all. I wouldn't be too hard on him. I've actually been making myself cry by scripting the upcoming chapters and I haven't even reached the first battle of the Gauntlet!
We'll be momentarily increasing the size of the AD universe in the next chapter. ;) It won't come into play too strongly in the immediate or even into the far future. There's just another world that this universe is joined with and it's time for a bit of a view of what Lexx is going to have to deal with when it's all over. Some of my long time readers will be able to figure it out. It's a world I wanted to toy with for awhile, just never had the time and I'm dying to show off Chill, who is one of my favorite characters to never been seen anywhere.

I hope Lexx starts to get it soon though. He’ll never be left alone, the best thing he can do is fight against the ADC until is doesn’t exist.

Poor Lexx, he doesn’t get that though the closer he gets to the end of his game might make the dirty tricks less likely because of everyone watching him. But once those camera’s go out, most likely ADC will get even more brazen in their attempts to kill him. The ADC lady doesn’t care about what he might or might not do, she cares about the risk he represents.

It’s really easy to sit in judgement on Lex when your life isn’t at stake, I feel like most people would make the same choice, so landing on him with the golf shoes is unfair.
