The young woman warily brought out several tightly closed containers of food for the dice from inside the serving cart. Sirius and Serenity stood nearby, sensing that they might frighten her away and then not get whatever breakfast they were being served. The containers were opened on the opposite side of the room, with the young woman nervous instructing them to only eat one container and there would be more food later.
Sirius and Serenity eagerly grabbed a container each and carried them to a corner to enjoy the contents, which turned out to be large chunks of fresh salmon. Stealth roused herself a few moments later when the food prepared for the more human inhabitants was uncovered and stirred. Stealth got up to investigate and the serving girl was visibly anxious at the sight of the large cat showing so much interest in the food.
Luckily for the serving girl, Mel arrived with a fresh pot of coffee at that moment and immediately began talking to Stealth. Stealth was taken aback at being spoken to so directly. It wasn’t what she expected, but then again, this was Chel’s mother and Chel always spoke to her the same way.

We finally get to see Mel without a hazmat suit! I bet she’s got all sorts of questions of a personal and sensitive nature that she would like to put to Stealth if the opportunity presents…
Stealth: Well… I suppose in some respects I could consider myself to be furry in the manner that you seem to be suggesting, and I am self-evidently big and feline… and when it comes down to it, I would rather like a nice stroke… but I’ll choose the topic of the rest of the conversation if you don’t mind. Feline cuisine, for instance, versus a healthy feline diet… *prrrrrrrrr*
Mel: Well, the two aren’t necessarily opposed, you know – yes, I thought you’d like being scritched there – and the petcare industry has already done a lot of work…

Advertisement: If your cat could talk, it would specify Stealth Catfood. Stealth Catfood, in five delicious flavours – you won’t see it disappear!
Purchaser: Well, we’ll give it a try… the winged lion emblem looks kinda cute…
