Then the tears came, streaming down Chel’s face as she tried to make them stop. Hurriedly, she tried to wipe them away with the heel of her hand and not let Lexx see her, but it was too late. With a sob, Chel threw her arms around a startled Lexx.
Lexx stood uncertainly for a moment. This wasn’t what he wanted. Cautiously, he brought his hands down, wrapping his arms around Chel and running a hand over her hair in as comforting of a gesture as he could manage.
“Chel, it’s ok!” Lexx was confused by her reaction and said the only thing that came to mind.
“I’m sorry! I can’t stop it.” Chel sobbed uncontrollably against his chest, digging her fingertips into his back, seeking further comfort. It was embarrassing and she could not help but feel angry with herself over it. Lexx had enough problems. He didn’t need her crying on him.

I wish Lexx’s dinky little wings would either go away, or grow big enough to be useful.

I know what you mean. I think they’re more compact, and merely have their ability amplified via dice powers, so they function as larger wings without being as cumbersome.
I liked the dragon wings better, too.
