“Now, now, she can’t have just vanished.” Kade softened toward Torin, offering her a comforting arm around the shoulder as he pulled her away from Riley. “She must be somewhere.” He spoke gently and soothingly, not wanting to upset Torin. None of this was her fault.
Riley stood by awkwardly, wondering if he should make a quick retreat while his father was distracted. He took too long deciding.
“You better find that child, Riley,” Kade swiftly turned on his son, his eyes fixed sternly on him. “The ADC wants her, but does not have her as far as I know. She must be here somewhere.”

Kade actually reminds me of Lexx a bit. He talks and acts like he doesn’t really care about most people but deep down hes a very caring guy.
