Back on Earth, Chel couldn’t take her eyes off the scene before her. Lexx was still hovering above the inactive dice and they were so far away, she couldn’t see his face. She wanted so much to reach out over the relay to him, but kept her thoughts within her own head to avoid distracting him. She couldn’t take that risk.
“Illion Seelie’s a good man.” Kade smiled, then added with noticeable pride. “He’s also going to be my new son-in-law.”
“That’s who you got to marry Trasik?” Riley sputtered as he spun on one heel to face his father. “He’s one of the best players there ever was. He’s also retired.”
“He came out of retirement to participate.” That almost sounded like a brag to Riley. His father was actually bragging about convincing one of the most highly ranked players in the universe to join their cause? Anger and annoyance flooded through Riley. Was his father trying to show him up? His contacts were better than Riley’s? Riley couldn’t help but feel insulted.

Does that mean the picture he’s looking at in the previous update is a picture of Trasik? Also, I’m a little confused about why Riley looks upset in the last panel. Does he think Kade convinced this guy to come out of retirement and seriously try to capture Lexx?

I think this is a delaying tactic. A lot of gauntlet hours will be “wasted” – hence why the ADC head is furious.

Ohhhh my STAAARS HE GOT A GUY TO DO AN EASY MATCH XD The dude literally just sent out this big dice and it’s not gonna do nothing. No way are they going to get away with this for the whole 24 hours, but MAN that is clever. And it’s not breaking any rules!

Trasik: …it’s bad enough that I have to stop chasing Lexx, and worse that I have to retire from the game, but now you’re making me get married!?
Kade: Now, now, is it really that bad?
Trasik: Yes, it is! How can Mother let you do this to me?
Kade: Oh ye of little faith. Say, do you remember when you were a teenager and you had a crush on Illion Seelie?
Trasik: Daaaaaad…
Kade: I seem to recall you had posters plastered all over your room, and plushies of his dice, not to mention that silly little story you posted on-
Trasik: (now bright red) HOW DO YOU EVEN KNOW ABOUT THAT?!?
Kade: I bet you’re wondering why I’m bringing this up?
Trasik: …because you hate me…
Kade: Nonsense! It’s to make sure you really appreciate this! (Opens door)
Illion: Ah, hello? I’m here to discuss a bethrothal proposal?
Trasik: (freezes)
Kade: (smirks)
(And the fan girl squeal echoed throughout the Lanier estate)
Silent Thunder
So, Kade gets a famous player out of retirement to sign up for a major fight (ADC would be excited), gets him to run down the clock (personal ties put him on “our” side), and when Lexx wins, he gets the modifier dice from one of the most renowned players in the game, to help with future battles that may not be as stacked. Nice!
