Day 29 Part 2 Page 2

“We’re not a threat.” Kane waved her arms frantically, speaking the first words she’d found herself able to say since they were picked up. “Actually, you are.” Mel turned to face the pair with a sigh. “You just validated centuries of conspiracies that are going to have implications. Are we going to tell the truth about your human origins and panic millions?” Kane felt her future prospects darken with each word. She did not want to accept that she was going to be living in another prison, even if it was a much nicer one than she had been in.

  1. I vote for panicking millions!

You could try to spin it with ‘OK, we have been visited by aliens, but look at all the cool new tech they brought with them!”

Option 2: just tell them you are the last survivors of a doomed planet that recently blew up. That strategy has worked on Earth before.
One caveat. This option also requires taking a job working at a newspaper. I don’t know if you can find many still in business.

  2. So, where the cows reaserch subjects to see if Earth had sufficiant animal life for dice? 😉

  3. No panicking millions would be bad. There’s a reason other life in the galaxy hasn’t made an effort to contact Earth yet. We’re a small backwater simple-minded planet.

“A person is smart. People are dumb, panicky dangerous animals and you know it. Fifteen hundred years ago everybody knew the Earth was the center of the universe. Five hundred years ago, everybody knew the Earth was flat, and fifteen minutes ago, you knew that humans were alone on this planet. Imagine what you’ll know tomorrow.”

Remember this line from Men In Black? Just sit and think about that for a second. Even though it came from a work of fiction, it is incredibly true, and will continue to be for generations to come.

    1. Yup. I have to agree. Especially in groups.

    2. Mobacracy, I tell you, that’s exactly the reason why the founding fathers made the US a republic and made the constitution maleable.
