The crack of an energy whip brought Lexx back to his battle. The momentary distraction to check on his dice cost him. He swept his wings back, and the end of the lash ripped through cloth and flesh across his chest. “You’re nothing!” Tairin screamed, expertly pulling one whip back and lashing out with the other. “You don’t deserve to win! I do!” The gleaming whips sparkled and crackled as Lexx evaded. “When I beat you, I will be free!” Lexx scowled, the whips’ reach not entirely discernible. They fluctuated in length with each snap of Tairin’s wrist. She splashed through the shallows and onto the sand, pursuing Lexx with remarkable speed. If he turned, she would certainly get a lash caught around his leg–or worse, a wing–and pull him closer.
