Chel squinted, noticing several dark spots in the sky approaching.  Then there was a familiar streak of light.  A blink later, Sythe was circling her captor.  The second head noticed before the first.  The lips pulled back to show off an impressive array of two inch long daggers.  He snarled in warning at the bird.  "Go away." Sythe screeched and flew under the larger dice.  Chel hung onto her captor's head tightly.  She wasn't sure what the dice had in mind or whether she wanted them to rescue her while she was somewhat safe.  Swiftpaw was next, touching his paws down on the tip of the beast's wings and testing it. "GO away!!"  Chel's captor swung hard to the right, roaring at the winged Fox.  Chel clung fearfully as both Swiftpaw and Sythe annoyed the larger dice.  She didn't notice Skri circling beneath them, her head tilted sideways to keep a careful watch on what was going on.  The strategy had been worked out quickly and was simple.  They just had to make Chel fall. With an amazing burst of speed, Desirea coiled forward, rising up to her full height and preparing to strike.  Lexx was quick in calculating just how much space he had.  He had to be.  Desirea's mouth gaped open, a pair of fangs extending.  They glistened in the sunlight.  Lexx could see clear venom dripping from one of them. She struck.  Lexx's wings jerked, pulling him back in one strong flap, just out of Desiree's reach as her mouth snapped shut inches from him.  A bit would be bad enough without the poison. He couldn't let her even scrape him with one of those fangs. 'That's it … closer to the edge …'  Lexx stared into the dice's eyes, daring her to attack again.  This was a mere animal.  Its attention was focused completely on him and that's the way Lexx wanted it.
