Damian scowled at Riley, rubbing a sore spot on his right arm. Riley had twisted his arm sharply in the process of trying to get his coat back. Now the coat was laying on the floor. Damian kicked at it while Riley glared at him out of the corner of his eye. "I would like to begin by apologizing for my actions, Riley." Zaile spoke quickly, ignoring Riley's previous comment. "Now, we need to speak alone." "What about Maelinn?" Riley reminded Zaile of why he had been fired and that question was enough to get the point across that he wasn't going to do anything for Zaile as long as that remained an issue. Silence came from the other end of the messenger. Zaile was obviously thinking about it and found speaking on Maelinn a trickier subject than admitting he had acted out of line. "If you hurt her, I will kill you." Zaile finally responded in a serious growl. "Fair enough." Riley shrugged it off and started across the room to the balcony. Damian turned in a huff and left the room as well. "Ok," Riley slid the balcony door closed and walked to the far end. "I'm alone. What is going on, Zaile?" "I need your expertise to get rid of Kane." A chill ran slowly down Riley's back. Kane? Why did Zaile need to get rid of her? As though answering Riley's unspoken question, Zaile explained, "She has contacted me and threatened to tell Lexx about me and our sister."
