How awful would it be, if all of this was a set up? So when Kade appears the poor girl has been taught “treat me as x” when in reality it’s the exact opposite of what is expected, thus it is all a cruel plot to snuff out any affections between Kade and the “servant”. I’m on to you, Karisa!
