The relay was dropped immediately and had a jarring effect, much like awakening from a terrible nightmare. Lexx sat upright quickly, his hands and feet digging into the bed in reflex scrambling actions. His wings flapped wildly behind him in an attempt to keep him balanced. Lexx was back in his room, in the dark. He breathed deeply, then corrected himself, closing his eyes and breathing slowly, calming himself, even as the words still echoed in his head. Why is this happening? Couldn’t I be happy for a little while? Lexx leaned forward, clenching and unclenching his fists. I could run. There’s always that option. Yes … no. They would find me and if I leave the Earth, it’ll be worse for me. He would be pursued and dragged back to the Gauntlet, probably penalized. His first thoughts repeated the loop of fear. Everything he had ever heard about the Gauntlet was what he had always wanted to avoid. ------- Bizarre. Never seen a post mark itself as missed update, but it's fixed now! -Tiff

  1. I love this story and will be sad to see it end. I feel so much for poor Lexx. 🙁

    1. I actually think the prologue will be a bit more depressing, what with the ERA pumping Lexx full of tranquilizers, and temporarily crippling him with gunfire in order to outfit him with a bomb which will automatically go off and kill him if he ever leaves the facility.

Just kidding! No, that would be a competent way to capture Lexx, given what they’ve seen him do. I get the feeling they would shoot him and strap him to a table with plenty of small, sharp objects just within reach…
