Skate did as Riley predicted and snapped her tail, sending Lexx flipping through the air. He hit the smooth floor with a loud crack, rolled several more times and then slid on his face a few more feet. Riley could swear he saw a tooth go flying into the air from the impact.
Lexx groaned and tried to shift himself off his face. Skate slowly ambled toward him, lowering her head and giving him a light nudge. The torn membrane on Lexx’s wing had fully ripped and the bone it was attached to hung limp and twisted.
