Lexx quickly set Maenae down. It had only taken a second to destroy his good mood. “Chel. Maenae. Stay here.” Lexx stated firmly. “I’ll be back. Do not leave this area..”
“Where are you going, Lexx?” Chel felt it. She couldn’t explain exactly what. Dread, maybe? Something had really upset Lexx, but she couldn’t see what it was.
“This does not concern you.” Lexx snapped, hurrying away from them. The quicker he did this, the faster he would be back.
“… Lexx likes you.” Maenae whispered to Chel, watching Lexx’s wings sway as he left.
‘He has an odd way of showing it.’ Chel stared after Lexx, wishing she had more of an explanation of what was going on.
