"Will I ever meet your parents?"  Lexx ventured. "I don't know, Lexx."  Chel sighed, fighting the conflicting emotions brought by that question.  She wanted to introduce him, but her parents were not her siblings.  "They might not understand." "Understand what?" "You,.. uhm,.. the way you look."  Chel felt odd about answering.  She didn't want to have to explain that while Lexx looked fairly human, her parents would probably not trust him like she did.  Her father especially.  He tended to be a little overprotective. "I can't do anything about that."  Lexx sighed. "I know." "With the way you, your brother and sister treat me,… it's hard to think humans are the way we're told."  Lexx shrugged and rambled, not wanting Chel to feel pressured by his question.  "Earth is a non contacted world and as such,.. we can come to it, but we're on our own.  There's nothing valuable here to anyone, so it's safe.  The Galactic Console only interferes when it deems necessary and then only secretly.  When humans achieve true space capability, then and only then will official contact be made,.. " Chel was looking at Lexx, trying to be polite, but he had slipped into a slight monotone that had the immediate effect of making her thoughts wander.  Lexx coughed and apologized, "Rambling,.. I apologize if I'm boring you, Chel."

  1. Well, her parents would be thrilled. After all, they already found his wing, they’d be more than happy to meet the rest of him…though they may NOT be too thrilled, that he’s seeing their daughter…after all, it isn’t good for parent/daughter relationship, if you try to dissect the boyfriend.

    1. …that comment about dissecting the boyfriend made me snort coffee over my screen great start to my morning lol

      1. “Now you better treat my daughter like a lady, because I have laser scalpels and elephant tranquilizer and I know how to use them!”

  2. Shouldn’t it be Council, not console? (yes, that’s nit-picking, but still…)
10+ years reading, and I still LOVE this comic!
