Victor crossed his arms and gave Lexx a long hard look. Everyone was trying to look from Victor to Lexx without it being too obvious. Lexx slowly sank back onto the couch next to Zaile looking noticeably uncomfortable with each passing moment of silence. “I’ve heard.” Victor stated. Then he smiled, seemingly pleased with the noticeable response he was getting from Lexx. He felt a little bad for what he was doing, but it was necessary to see how Lexx reacted to everything he said and breaking through his defenses was very difficult. “For my peace of mind, stay away from my daughter in dark rooms. I will have to shoot first and ask questions later.” Chel facepalmed, then ran her hand up the side of her head, fighting the urge to say something. Now was not the time. She knew her father had something in mind, but it was really heartbreaking to see just how vulnerable Lexx was.

  1. Yeah, right. Like she would willingly shoot Lexx …
    AGAIN.
    😀

    1. Actually, if I understand it correctly, it will be her father who shoots, not her.

  2. Quite the gun-happy family aren’t they?
First Lexx, then Riley…who’s next? 😛

  3. His daughter is an adult. Chel should really get off her ass, walk over to Lexx’s couch, and sit down next to him.

    Take that dad.

    1. that’d be the fun thing to see. but i have the impression that the author is trying to push chel as some sort of ‘impossibly naive’ to keep the comic pg.

im guessing this update depicts some sort of joke from the expressions in the second panel though.

  4. Chel’s next line: Oh, Lexx, that’s how we met!

That may or may not make her father feel better about the situation…

    1. From the grins, I think he knows that already.

  5. Kyn: I agree. I don’t understand why she isn’t speaking up at all. I hope she does next week. She has no problem putting Lexx and Riley in their place when they are doing something wrong. I hope she defends him a little here.

    1. Judging from the grins on Vic and Chel, I think he realizes that Lexx probably won’t attack Chel again and he’s joking about it to let off some steam at Lexx’ expense.

  6. He doesn’t look serious about, then again maybe it’s family bonding thing.

    1. I don’t know about that. I’ll deliver a threat with a smile when I mean it. It usually just means “If you listen to my advise, we won’t have any problems. If you don’t – well, I warned you and therefore feel no moral or ethical inhibitions about following through.”

  7. Lexx looks like he just got racked.

  8. Hmmm. Wonder if they had the “relay talk” with Zaile. For Lexx’s mostly returned sanity i hope not.

  9. Chel seems a bit embarrassed but also hiding a smile…. I think her dad’s trying to be ‘funny’ and failing miserably so she doesn’t want to laugh and blow the mood he’s trying to lighten.

    1. *I* thought it was funny… although given my sense of humor, that’s not saying much. But yeah, I think the mood in the room just got a lot lighter. 🙂
