Lexx sat alone with his thoughts. There was a slight breeze and a gentle shushing sound coming from the nearby palm fronds. It was all very relaxing and he felt like he could drift off into sleep at any moment. He was exhausted, but willed himself to stay awake. He had to greet Chel the moment she arrived.
There was a very slight scraping sound of a misplaced paw. The dice were peeking cautiously around the corner. Lexx could see them out of the corner of his eyes. “Is a moment alone too much to ask for?”
“I said go away!” Lexx jerked himself out of a daze and twisted his head around sharply to shout at the dice.
They were gone again in an instant.
