The woman looked just as startled to see Chel. “You’re –you-“
“.. Hello ..” Chel tried not to stare at the woman with some difficultly. Her expression was one of pure shock … and recognition. The left side of the rishan woman’s face had been badly burned and she had brushed her hair over it and most likely a dead eye. It was a milky color and didn’t seem to be focusing on anything as far as Chel had seen. Chel tried to look anywhere but directly at the woman’s face, then, she heard Caillem speaking.
“Chelsea, this is Shira Lessa. She’s Taum and Rume and Lexx and Zaile and Kane’s mother.”
Lexx’s MOTHER?! Taum and Rume were Lexx’s brothers?! It didn’t make any sense. Lexx had told her that his mother had died and had not gone into further details. He didn’t like talking about family, but he certainly seemed to think his mother was dead and that he did not have any family. Then other thoughts and questions whirled around Chel’s mind.

Okay, so the answer to my question about 8 strips back is “yes – his parents” or at least one of them “are here.” followed by evil evil laughter. Lots of evil laughter. Evil!

Anywho, nice to confirm that everyone who has claimed to be related to Lexx is, in fact, related to Lexx. Problematic in that there isn’t another sister, which means Zaile is apperantly trying to get Lexx to rescue Kane…which means he’s way behind the curb…
Also, If Riley’s dice knows all this, doesn’t that mean Riley does, too? Big brother, joo got some explaining to do~!

…I shouted “What the *BEEP*!?!” at the top of my lungs. I then read the extra text at the bottom. Then I said it again a few more times.

Given that Lessa’s face was badly burned, it’s possible that she was declared dead and either in a coma or just plain missing while recovering.
From what I recall, I think there is a set time limit before a parentless child becomes eligible to be property of a corporation like the ADC. Also from what I recall, I think that once that time limit has passed, there is little to no recourse for a family that wasn’t available earlier.
Of course, the other thing that I recall, is that the ADC has been manipulating various things to make sure that they have a steady supply of “orphans” to supplement their actual supply of legitimate orphans.
Lastly, I know that the child slave market that the ADC has going is what many of Lexx’ benefactors are trying to expose and stop.
Oh, and my jaw dropped too.

And of COURSE Chel is ‘offline’ while visiting there… because no oen is allowed to see her visit Lexx’s mother and have proof that ADC cheated Lexx.
Also: Caillem should have said Lexx in very very very tiny print … like she was trying see how well Chel was paying attention… <..>

well i happy to say i predicted it. as to explain, Lexx became ADC property after being convected of a crime as an “orphan.” His parents were assumed dead in an explosion. hence the burn mark on the face. question is where is the (new?) dad, because those two are too young to be born with Lexx
