'I know next to nothing about Lexx,'  During all the time they had spent together and spoken, Lexx was guarded about some things.  Most of their conversations focused on life in space, Chel's life on Earth and a little bit about the game.  For the first time,… she realized that Lexx had volunteered very little information actually ABOUT himself.  He spoke about the grand parties he had attended, other worlds he had seen, starships and other races,… but nothing about his actual life. Lexx never said anything about his family, his childhood, the things that occurred in the Academy or his own battles.  Yet,… despite his omission of these things, Chel could not get over how she felt about him,… or how often she just thought about him. Chel rested her chin on her knees, muttering to herself, "Come on, Chel.  You've gone through this over and over.  It's still blind."  Then she closed her eyes.  'I care about Lexx.  I care about him more than most of the people I've known my entire life and I want to help him.  And,… I don't want to distract him.  I know it would distract him if I said anything about how I feel.  I know what happens to people in a new relationship.  I'm all too aware of it.  If I were sixteen, I could probably care less, but I'm old enough to know better.' 'In a way,… I think he knows.'  Chel closed her eyes in thought.  She was still sleepy and the excitement from earlier was starting to wear off.
