Day 24 Part 2

“Now what’s the plan?”  Stealth’s golden green eyes glinted with interest as she glanced over her shoulder at Riley and Damian.   Chel was left to her thoughts as she followed Caillem and the trio of bouncy budgie otter dice back through the maze.  The moment she stepped back into the maze, she tried to keep track of where they were going so she could find her own way through it if she needed to.  Chel drug her feet into the thick grass, but the root masses beneath were so firmly entwined that she could not make a recognizable mark. Then, she thought maybe she could break branches in the hedges, but found that the limbs had been pruned tightly and interwoven to make an impenetrable wall when they grew.   The limbs did not give when pulled on and she couldn’t break them without attracting Caillem’s attention. Finally, she gave into the fact that she wasn’t going to be able to easily trace her steps out and just walked while talking her situation out to herself again.  This is not a place I’m going to be able to escape from on my own.  Caillem’s not going to help me and I can’t figure out why. Chel scowled as she stared at the brown furred dice striding steadily down a path she could not see.  Caillem looked so much like Sirius, but in Chel’s mind, was not nearly as loyal.  Sirius would do anything in his power to help her. Seriously.  You would think they would want me to escape, not just sit around on my butt until Lexx comes to rescue me.  I should be able to rescue myself!  But I can’t fly a shuttle.  I don’t know anything about this place and I really don’t feel like running into anything that passes for a predator on this world. Chel was well aware of the sharp pointy teeth in Sirius’ mouth and had glimpsed them in Caillem’s.  What would a wild version of them be like?  Chel shivered at the thought.

  1. If I were Chel, I would be trying to think of a way to ask Caillem if a rescue was on the way, without tipping off Trasik. I know one shouldn’t assume, but if I knew, as Chel does, that Caillem belongs to a friend, but the dice isn’t helping me escape it must have gotten orders that Riley’s on his way to help.

  2. Ooo, what kind of predators?

  3. Yeah, at this point Chel’s best way of escaping by her self would be to hold one of the cute bird die hostage and make other people get her out of their. But, of course, this method (almost) never works. 🙁

  4. Hang in there Chel! Either you(Chel), Riley or Stealth will think of some way to get you out of there before Trasik can put so much as a scratch on Lexx!
As for the predators I’d stay close to whatever allies you can find such as Caillem.

Love the artwork and the story! Can’t wait for more!!
