Day 27 5 03

She rose to her feet, placing her hands on the table in front of her, glaring down the table at Vic, then at Malcolm.  “This is a unique situation that requires close involvement.  We can’t give Lexx a different handler, because he’ll just go back to Chel and likely go into hiding at the same time, because he can.” “Like it or not, he has abilities that even CAPES don’t have.”  Primrose straightened up with a sigh.  “If he can go anywhere, we might as well not keep him underground.” Vic smiled, seeing that Primrose was in agreement with his position on Lexx.

  1. She looks like she’s seriously tired of this discussion and wants a donut NOW.

    1. Low blood sugar.

      1. “Prim, please stop menacing the donuts.”

“I WILL EAT YOU! I WILL EAT YOUR FAMILIES! I AM EATING YOUR BABIES!”

“Prim, please put the donut holes down.”

  2. Is… Is Primrose actually showing competence? I’m so happy, I might cry a little. And yeah, if Lexx chooses to go public, there’s really nothing you can do. Your leash is tenuous, as Chel herself dislikes the way the ERA operates.

    1. *Chuckles.* Vic has also shown both competence and the fact that he’s a Reasonable Authority Figure before too. 😉

      1. To be fair, he can sometimes be wildly unprofessional, and has risked driving Lexx away with certain comments. Particularly when he suggested that he might forbid Lexx from having sex. I know that Lexx wouldn’t care about that at this point, but if it was literally any other leading character in this comic, Vic would have gotten his arse handed to him in short order.

He is competent, no doubt about that from the way he’s handling the relationship between himself and Lexx. He is, however, deeply emotionally involved, and his judgement is a bit questionable at times. He is most definitely NOT cut out to be a diplomat. Not his fault, though. The ERA does not have the budget for a competent diplomat AND someone who can deal with all this alien politics bullcrap.

Between the two, I would choose Vic every time, no doubt. He’s just irritating on occasion. Using his own daughter is an asshole thing to do, but he gets props from me for actually making hard decisions, and being the sort to explain to Chel and Lexx both that they need support because and that love and friendship will NOT be enough to live on.

        1. Well, Vic IS a father too!

What father hasn’t wanted to tell his Daughter’s suitors to keep their hands off of her? 😉

I’m pretty sure they’ll be able to have the conversations necessary to hammer out the details in a reasonable manner. Especially if Serenity happens to sneak into the room.

Heck, they might want to hide Serenity near some important negotiation tables once they figure out that she lives up to her namesake. ;D

        2. Serenity and Sirius would be a remarkably effective diplomatic team, and I would love to see that.

  3. Whenever I see Malcolm, I can’t help but picture him in a striped muscle shirt lifting barbells at a carnival midway.

  4. Oh my god. Someone in power with a brain? Holy crud this HAS to be fiction! lol

    1. Lol! Sadly I agree with you completely.

    2. to complete the fiction… on earth
