Day 27 5 04

“Lexx isn’t a problem.”  Vic idly drank his coffee. “I think I might have shot him if I’d seen him near one of my daughters.” Malcolm shook his head, making a disgusted face. “Chel shot him.” Vic offered. “Even better.” The three sat in silence,  eating donuts and drinking coffee, letting silence hang in the air and taking time to let the stress of the situation diminish.  Primrose pulled her phone out, checking a message on it and grimacing at what was being sent over it. Victor’s thoughts were full of things he regretted, in light of recent revelations.   Thankfully, he was in a position to direct things into a more positive direction, should Lexx survive his gauntlet. “I think we need to give him more freedom and less threats.”  Victor suggested.  He was met with silence, but not ignored.

  1. Heh… seems like being put in this position of having to defend Lexx against his coworker(s) may be one of the better things to happen for Vic’s relationship with Lexx.

  2. Vic, if you pull this off I will take almost every evil thing I’ve thought/said about you…

    1. I really like how Vic is, only now, realizing what kind of truly horrible life Lexx has, and just how much worse he’s made it. However, Vic was right before. Lexx doesn’t need Vic to be a friend. He needs a mentor. He has friends, and they’re darn good ones.

Kinda hoping Vic realizes that. Chel has made actual, honest to goodness progress, but she can only do so much. Get that kid to therapy once he’s out of the game. I hate therapists, and I resent ever being forced to speak to them as a kid. Even I recognize that Lexx needs therapy. I understand he can’t get therapy though, because he can’t talk about his horrible experiences until after he’s won the game.

Aside from that, the therapist would have to be really, really good, and have a lot of experience with PTSD. Lexx most likely has it, given what he’s been through. There’s a whole mess of issues to deal with, and by the very nature of his trauma, Lexx has trouble trusting people.

Many therapists would be extremely out of their depth with Lexx, as the sheer scale of what he’s been through, what he knows, what he has watched others go through, would all be too much for them.

  3. Vic? Holy crap. You actually DO have a nice side! Lexx is an interesting case, by the way. He’s very much like an immigrant. What do you do with immigrants with unique and beneficial skills? You let them in! Lexx has had fantastic schooling, and he is among the very best and brightest. He is strong, clever, intelligent, and willing to work hard. You do not want to drive him away, even forgetting he’s an alien who can teach you things!

Lexx is nothing less than a solid gold asset to the ERA, they just need to see aboit getting him made a citizen. Seriously. I’m pretty sure naturalizing him would go a long way toward making him feel welcome.

    1. You know, that would be a GREAT first step, but there is a LONG, LOOONG, LOOOOOOONG road ahead for him.

He will need Chel by his side for that trip.

      1. Definitely. the ERA has made a lot of missteps, and some of them would really come back to bite them if Lexx was capable of taking a step back and examining events more closely.

        1. Lucky for them, Lexx is hyperfocused on Chel and the game,… 😉

        2. Yep! I worry slightly for them if Lexx wins the game, and actually gets a chance to step back and really look at the ERA. Heck, he could revert Stealth to level two, and have her steal all the information he needs. “I was only following orders” is a legit legal defense, but that won’t really matter to the superpowered alien who outclasses anything Earth has, and can get even stronger, simply by tossing some dice on the ground.

  4. Vic … Slip of the tongue.

Malcolm seems a little racist. What I mean by racist is in the vein of thinking “pure” humans should rule the universe and wants the tech to do so. With him in charge of course.

    1. “Those darned blues are coming in and stealing our women! Time for a lynching!” How very progressive…

    2. ha, Malcolms racist! Is it racist I thought that wouldn’t happen?

  5. I just realized something. Lexx wins the game and gets out of ‘their’ clutches to return to earth.

Why would the game masters NOT want to shut him up? I think it is VERY possible Earth will come under BIG danger.
