Chel walked. The wispy grayish-white clouds seemed to emit a light of their own. Clumps of what looked like dead grass were scattered across the area. Fragments of stone appeared here and there on the dreary grey ground. Then, Chel came face to face with a snarling grey face. She gave a little gasp, then realized it wasn't really alive. It was just a gargoyle protruding from a stone archway. "What's the reason for this?" Chel stated aloud. "I want Chel to understand why I am the way I am…" Lexx's responded from nowhere. "But these things are not things I can say. I've pushed them away to be forgotten, but I want her to know… I want someone to know." Chel looked around, overcome by the gloomy stone and grass. "I want you to know." "Maybe, I shouldn't be doing this." Chel thought to herself. She stepped under the archway and immediately found herself on a silvery white gravel path. "I'm such a stranger to Lexx's world. This is creepy. I remember that dream…" She shivered. "It's so cold…" Chel followed the path as it wound through a garden of stone monsters. There was no wind, just a still coldness and the eerily drifting clouds. "So dead here." Chel sighed. "Is anything alive?" "I want you to know." Then, Chel noticed a lighting of the sky in the distance. Rays protruded around the edges of passing clouds, falling gently in various places just out of Chel's sight. "I want you to know." Lexx's voice urged her to walk on.
