“Chel, come here.” Lexx called for her in a tone that was clearly more of a demand than a request. ‘Could at least say please,…’ Chel walked over to where he was, curious to see what he wanted, but not hurrying on his account. “Do you like jewelry?” He looked over his shoulder curiously. “Not really,” Chel shook her head. She didn’t. Jewelry was good for getting lost and she didn’t put much value in it. Then she noticed what it was that Lexx was indicating. Rows and rows of necklaces, each one alien in design and like nothing she’d ever seen on Earth. “But these designs are interesting to look at.” “These are not just to look at. Pick one up.” Lexx averted his eyes, not wanting to give away the surprise. Chel studied the necklaces, then reached out for one of the swirling blue ones. Her fingertips brushed the rim. It was surprisingly warm, then, she slid her finger down over the stone. The moment her skin made contact with the stone enough to feel it, there was a snapping sound. The stone’s color brightened and Chel jerked her hand back in surprise. It had stung her?! What kind of crazy jewelry was this?!
