The ocean rippled in slow rhythmic waves. Clouds stretched across the sky endlessly and the beach was serene. The dice had scattered the moment they were allowed off the ship. Fly happily took to the warm oceanic updrafts. Skate dove into the water and vanished. Stealth had crept off with Dash close behind her. Only Epsy and Zeta followed Chel and Lexx down the beach.
Lexx strolled easily across the packed sand, hands in his pocket. Chel walked beside him, simply enjoying the warm breeze. The wind played in her hair, teasing the long loose locks.
"I want you to meet someone, Chel." Lexx stared ahead, searching the beach.
"Oh?"
"Yes. She arrived a couple of nights ago. Her name is Kane." Lexx paused. "She's my sister."
"…" Chel hmmed curiously, unsure of what to say. "You have a sister?" That seemed natural enough.
"Yes, it seems that I do." Lexx shook his head in acknowledgement. "I didn't know about her,…" He smiled.
Chel looked straight ahead, a cold chill creeping up her back. There was something,… not right about what Lexx had just said. 'Lexx didn't know about her?' She glanced at the rishan's face. He was still smiling. It didn't fit. Even from their short time together, Chel felt she had a decent grasp of what kind of a person Lexx was.
