I didn’t ask, but I wanted it. Lexx smiled.  Selfish desires took hold and he chose to dwell on happier thoughts.  Chel.  And I chose.  I chose her … why? In his mind, he could see her.  She was plain when compared to just about every woman he had ever seen in his short life, but something about her made her rise far above them.  She was real.  There was nothing fake about her.  She was who she said she was and didn’t cover up anything.  Chel didn’t want to trick him or use him for anything.  She just liked him.  Maybe even loved him. Lexx smiled wistfully.  That had all been unexpected.  He knew why he had chose her.  It was all very simple.  Because I knew I couldn’t have her. It was easy at first, because he didn’t have to act upon his impulses.  She was from a culture completely alien to him.  He never thought she’d actually return the feeling.  Never.  But perhaps somewhere deep inside Lexx had dared to hope and that hope had grown with a simple smile from her.

  1. Aaah, so cute and sad.

Don’t give up on text Tiff! I love it! It’s always my favorite part of the story and even when it updates late I get excited because it always adds more details. Whenever you have the cute little romantic segments I get all anxious for the text because that’s where you really go into the depths of their feelings and what not.

I don’t know what comments were upseting you but it seems to me people are just annoyed with Lexx, not what you’re writing. Lexx is just kinda… Moody. But that’s one of the things that make him so interesting and unique!

I know from my personal POV I’m just kinda worried about where this is going because I’m afraid you’re going to end this on a rather bittersweet note where they don’t end up getting to be together and that would really depress me. These kinda introspectives freak me out because it makes me think that’s where you’re going with this story… But even if you do go that way, I’ll still love how you write it I’m sure. I’ll be dreadfully depressed, sure, but I trust you’ll have a point for it and I’ll respect that.

Anyway, that’s my two cents. Keep it up because I love this story, and the new art is looking awesome too!

    1. Err… where did Syke say that she was giving up on updating the text? The text has a tendency of lagging behind the comic updates, so unless there is an actual remark by her stating it outright (which I may have missed, mind), I think you are over reacting here. Mind, as a fan from the Campus Sufari days (Meaning I have been here since day one of AD), I know exactly how you feel. -_^

  2. Aaaah! A wall of text… 😉
    But seriously, now i don’t
    have anyting to add.
But i will say this: i agree !

  3. *sheepish grin* Heh. Yah. Sorry bout that…

  4. I dunno, knowing that it could go either way puts suspense back into the story. After all, if you knew how it would all turn out, it wouldn’t be so fun to read it! Hard to imagine Lexx dying in the end, but maybe even that will happen. Or Chel. Who knows? I try to only figure at max two strips ahead, then I don’t think beyond that. Keeps things interesting. And I’m usually wrong when I try going beyond that =P

  5. why dose seperation have to be caused by death. There are other posible ways to keep them seperate if the author chooses so.and remeber this is a comic so it soposed to not have an ending.

  6. Syke, I’ve been a lurker for years. I started reading right before I started high school and now that I’m starting college I look forward to coming home from class and finding a new update. The depth and emotion that you put into every panel, every bit of text, is cherished. Please don’t lose heart. I think I can speak for the rest of my lurker brethren in saying that we love you very much and whatever choice you make as far as text and story goes will be respected.

  7. Why should it not have an ending, just because it’s a comic? Also, to Tiff: I absolutly love the text, and have missed it over the last couple of strips. It makes AD unique and much more interesting/in-depth. You not only get the great images portraying the action and emotion, but the text for the extra dialogue and inner thoughts. Thank you for such a wonderful comic.

  8. can’t wait for new update im lovein this strip!!! i just noiced chels has angel wing and red horns, but being understanding in how much trouble she cause(and that would be alot)it seems she does need to have horns. : )

  9. boy now Lexx seems to be sinking more and more into depression. Ugh, this is not good for him.

  10. And all together: AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW…

He’s getting to a good place actually… realizing that yes, he wanted this, and yes, he chose Chel, and yes he at first did it because he couldn’t have her… He also at first agreed to let her help because he planned to dump her off immediately when he could…. plans change between them..

Because he loves her, he wants her safe.

    And Trasik is not safe.

….Now get out there and kick ass Lexx!!

  11. Did anybody else notice the little devil horns on Chel?

I think they’re a nice and funny touch on Lexx’s mental image of Chel.

  12. I just noticed the horns this viewing. I’m holding my “Dawwww” until next strip. I think that’s where it’s going to be warranted the most.

  13. ^_^ I had to chuckle at the middle panel. Chel looks really young there.

How does Lexx know what devil-horns look like?!

  14. OK, middle panel just looks so goofy I can’t help but laugh at it! XDDD

  15. I love the middle panel. Lil fairy wings and the devil horn headband. Hee hee!
