“Chel will be back very soon, Lexx. And since you insisted on being up right now, I thought you’d like to be present when she returned.” Stealth was snapped out of her solo pity party and into a full blown ‘situation in progress’. Lexx should not be up and he should not be out here. The fur along her neck prickled in irritation. Riley was up to something.
“Why did she go home?” Lexx asked wearily. He was a little hurt that Chel had not been down in the recovery room when he woke up. The fact that she was not there had given him the energy to force his way out of the recovery room to go look for her. He was injured and he wanted to make the most of it and to make the most of it, he needed Chel there to give him the attention he deserved.
“She had something she felt she needed to do.” Riley was grinning so much that the sunlight flashing off his fangs was giving Lexx a headache.
Lexx was too tired to demand further answers and his thoughts were wondering uncontrolled. “Did I do something?” He couldn’t help but ask himself if it was because of him that Chel had left. It worried him and he felt a pain ripple through his gut.
Then he noticed the gathering on the balcony. All of the dice, except Swiftpaw who was still sound asleep on top of Drift’s head, were staring at him with odd looks on their faces. Not a one had spoken a word, but they were all thinking the same thing and were unsure how to react. “Lexx doesn’t know!”

Oh god, I just realized, Epsy is going to come back while Vic is there and he is going to FREAK OUT.
