“I can try.” Lexx drew himself up into an almost comical pose of bravado, sparkling bolts of lightning arcing through the grass behind him at his whim. Chel smiled, getting the distinct impression that Lexx was pushing her statement aside and not letting it get to him. She was glad of that. He accepted it and went along, the same as she did, realizing that even though she had said it, she wasn’t leaving him alone. She was still there. She wasn’t going to abandon him and that was more important… especially since running was not a good idea in the first place. Instead, she wasn’t going to agree to do anything hypothetical just to make him feel good. The thought bothered him, but running would put Chel in an even worse situation if something happened to him. It had been a dumb question to ask of her, but still, she was truthful and that’s all he could ask for. “I already know you would give your life for mine, please don’t feel the need to prove it.” Chel kept smiling up at Lexx, relieved that he had not reacted how he might have in the past. He smiled back. He didn’t close down and retreat. He was still standing there, giving her a smile that made her cheeks flush. “As you wish.” Lexx whispered, brushing her hair back gently. “Yes, that’s what I need right now,” Chel’s hands dropped into Lexx’s, enjoying their warmth and security as they closed around hers. “You quoting ‘The Princess Bride’.” “As you wish.” Lexx tilted his head , closed his eyes and flashed a toothy grin that made Chel want to melt. ------ Good thing I came in after someone had posted a comment to reply to that comment. :D The text was done, it just hadn't been added, oops! BTW, there is something about this page and I'm waiting to see how catches it. - Tiff

  1. Heheheh…Well played Lexx. Well played. ^^

  2. Nice save Lexx, but be careful, “As you wish” doesn’t always work as you want it to, or at least not with me, Chel’s probably much more stable than I am, lol

Anyway I’ve caught back up again after losing computer access for a while, and I can’t wait to read the strips as they post! I love your talent Tiff!

  3. These two are such complete dorks. It’s adorable. 🙂

  4. Lovin the Princess Bride quote. Though I wonder when he had time to watch that.

  5. Welp I know what movie I am about to enjoy.

  6. Is the “something” that the treescape’s gravity appears to have reversed itself in the first panel? 😛 Looks like trunks are sticking up…or perhaps there’s something else going on there.

    1. (edit: Whoops, nevermind! I’m guessing that’s the lightning you mention in the text.)

  7. I really love the shading today! Keep up the good work!

  8. Considering what the gauntlet is, he’ll be a Princess Bride quote by the end of it if he’s lucky, mostly dead.

  9. Is the something that the last panel is essentially mimicking the box cover of Princess Bride?

  10. Your links on the comics themselves for this page and the previous one do not match up with the arrow keys. (Haven’t checked the next couple pages yet.)
