Now… this is my first run through this comic… but I hope there’s a back-story somewhere about Maenae… she’s even more mysterious than the CEO of that evil dice company. o_o
I can answer your questions. First of all, she’s possessed by the ghost of one of the other passengers of the ship she was recovered from. She can allow the ghost to have control, which causes her body to shift a bit to match the ghost.
Second, the reason she can hear relays. Her ears are actually hypersensitive receivers, and transmitters that work like ears/radar/relays.
Or it could just be a brain tumor. That does sound like something that would happen to Lexx. Sheesh, I haven’t seen anyone in a comic go through so much crap since I watched a recap of vital plot points to Spiderman’s history. Losing his kid to cancer would have been a very real possibility for the webhead, if he hadn’t sold his marriage to the devil. Still irritated about that.
