Meanwhile, Lexx was laying into Stealth back on the Rift.  He had a moment of silence until the shock was replaced by more anger.  "She's never coming back!  Never!!  Thanks a lot, Stealth! You ruined everything!"  He flexed his wings, ignoring the pain from his still lingering sunburn, and shook his fist at the cat.  "Do you just delight in making my life miserable?  Does it make you HAPPY?  Are you getting back at me for things I don't have anything to do with?!" Lexx's tirade echoed throughout the ship and the rest of the dice down in the biosphere quivered. They knew better than to cross Lexx,… even if they did push him every now and then. Epsy awoke with a start, darting across the sphere and into the pool of water to hide. She couldn't help but think that Lexx was yelling because of what she had done in the living area. The others retreated to wherever they felt safest, hiding beneath the scant foliage and each other to wait.  Dash shivered and grumbled to Rook, Dig and Energy, "… I wonder what Stealth did THIS time." "Whatever it is,..  I feel sorry for whomever Lexx takes out next," Energy sighed, pretty much being laid on by Rook. The kangaroo chortled in amusement.  "At least it's not one of us." "True, true," growled Dash, "But it sounds like Stealth is getting what's due." Back in the living area, Stealth defended herself in a low hiss, her tail puffed up to twice its size, "I did not force you to tell Chel!" "YOU activated the relay!  I hate you, Stealth! I hate you!  When this is all over, I never want to see you again!"  Lexx shouted at the small dice, then he stormed past her to the sleeping quarters and pushed the button to close it really hard.  He wished he could slam the door to put emphasis on his anger,.. but electronic doors didn't respond any faster no matter how hard you punched the button. Stealth sat down, glaring after Lexx until the door was completely closed.  Then she sighed, staring up at the ceiling.  '… Chel will come back.  She will.  Won't she?'  And for the first time,… Stealth doubted her plan.  She should have accounted for this.

  1. I’m a little surprised he even knows of the concept of ‘manual doors’…and how to make your point by slamming it shut.

I mean, he grew up around automatic doors, right?

    1. Maybe space stations have a mix? The reason the ship uses automatic doors is, I suspect, so that it can slam them shut in case of a hull breach. Deeper in the interior of a station that’s less relevant, so they might use cheaper manual doors.

  2. I don’t know, and I know this’s a serious scene and all, but did anyone else find that incredibly funny? XD It reminds me of Dan Shive’s wanting for a cell phone you can slam to hang up XD
