Meanwhile, far away on the main land, a single dark grey vehicle traveled along a two lane road that wound up into a chain of mountains. Inside, Victor Reid was driving, while his wife kept her attention to the side of the road, admiring the scenery. Both were dressed casually. In the backseat, Chill was sitting in the middle, acting very much like a ten year old as she inquired every few impatient minutes, “Are we there yet?”
“No.” Vic replied, not taking his eyes off the road. This girl was a little annoying in her extreme cheerfulness and naiveté. He wasn’t sure what was worse, an arrogant, self assured CAPE, or the smiling ray of snowy sunshine in the back seat bouncing around like a child who had just consumed half a dozen candy bars.
“Are we there yet?” Chill beamed excitedly.
“No.”
“I’ve never been to the woods before!” Chill suddenly squealed as trees loomed before the car over the next hill. “Are we going camping!?”
Vic inwardly cringed at the thought of trying to keep this girl out of trouble on a camping trip. “Uh,... no.” He sighed in response.

I would have thought that due to her powers and her name, that Chill would be able to, well, ‘chill’ in new social situations.
But then, her parents probably had to keep her isolated while growing up so that other people would not be afraid of her powers. Hmmm, I wonder is she has a sister named Anna?
Anyone want to hazard a guess as to what her favorite movie is?
