From the dark side of the moon, Riley’s ship remained hidden among other ships. There were more of them now. Some had landed on the moon. Others were cloaked like Riley’s ship. Most of these were observers, landing on the moon, then transporting down to the surface where the Gauntlet would be taking place.
Kade waited alone on Riley’s ship, keeping watch over the door he had opened. It was a small matter to track marked humans and he had made sure that all of the humans who had been on their ship had trackers applied without their knowing about it. The unspoken understanding between Kade and Vic was accurate. Vic suspected the aliens would know where he was and once he made it clear he was waiting to be picked up, it would happen. There would be no discussion about it. Chel had been insistent that her father join them on the ground once he was done with his work if he was available.
Kade stared at the gate. It had been open for several minutes. He expected Vic to walk in immediately and was beginning to wonder if he should go through the gate to meet him. “They should be here.” Kade muttered to himself. The golden door rippled serenely., then suddenly began to distort.

So, Kim's procedure didn't happen because insurance hasn't approved it yet. You know, a procedure that is necessary and shouldn't be delayed too long. :( So now we're sitting around waiting and it can happen at ANY TIME. :/ This does not bode well for work. I almost didn't get updates done, because I've been running a low grade fever for several days and had a very annoying, sleep robbing cough. I lost my voice for several days. Now, I'm much better, but still guzzling cough syrup. :( - Tiff

I hope your insurance stops being stupid. I know how it can be to be denied needed care because the insurance decides it isn’t needed for one reason or another.
I thought however, that insurance companies couldn’t deny care a doctor says is needed anymore. Which would mean them denying you is illegal.
Also, been following you on twitter with your illness, so I hope that gets better. I can’t imagine stress is helping it any.

Sorry, but unless Riley is a member of Pink Floyd the proper term is ‘Far’ side of the moon. Both receive the same amount of sunlight.
Mentioning they have planted trackers makes me think that various aliens have the equivalent of nature documentaries on the life and habits of the savage Earthlings. (in David Attenborough voice:) “A species so ferocious that they have nearly exterminated most other large animals from their planet.”

Well, at any given time half the moon is in sunlight and the other half is dark. So it is valid to refer to the “dark side” of the moon, as long as you just mean the side that is currently dark.
