Lexx considered. He could 'ask' her over the relay if she'd like to talk to him right now. He sensed that he could reach her even from far above the earth. Lexx hesitated. He didn't want to intrude. It was important to Chel that he not intrude and he knew this. But, a short chat wouldn't be too intrusive, would it?
"No. Don't bother Chel." A voice inside piped up with a negative tone. "Let her contact you. She knows how." It was true, she did. "What if she doesn't?" New doubts flooded Lexx's mind.

Meh, call or not call, huh? I think there’s entire books about this topic…whether or not to call the desired partner…and if so, when.
