Everything was a blur. The moment Chel stepped through the gate and was on the ship, she did not feel the relief she had thought she would feel. Instead, her concerns were focused on Lexx. Feathers were being shed off his wings at an alarming rate and dissolved in golden sparkles that danced across the floor at his dragging feet. Worse, there was a smeared trail of blood left behind them. Lexx wasn’t even trying to stand and his head rocked side to side unsteadily. He was mumbling something, but Chel couldn’t understand his words.
Sairah in white and blue smocks appeared as if from nowhere along with a hovering emergency bed. Chel did not hear as Damian attempted to quickly relate what had happened to them while laying Lexx on the bed. Claudia was right beside her, but the Kourwine had nothing to say of any importance. At the moment, the only one who had Chel’s attention was Lexx and suddenly… he was being taken away.
Damian said something to Claudia, holding a hand out to keep Chel from following Lexx, then he left in the same direction they had gone. Claudia took Chel by the hand and walked her to a large, colorful waiting room. Chel went where she was led as the overwhelming sensations of what had just happened settled fully on her.
Lexx wasn’t there. Claudia led her to a soft couch facing a window that looked out into space. Lexx wasn’t there. Then Claudia hurried away, leaving Chel alone and with her thoughts. Chel stared out the window, eyes wide as the thoughts rushed through her head repeatedly, intermingled with splashes of red and the sight of Trasik about to claim Lexx.
He came for me. He fought for me. He almost died.
Almost an hour had passed and Chel had not moved from where Claudia had left her. No one had come into the room and she was left with her thoughts and the horror that she had just experienced. Thinking beyond it felt like an impossible task, and then, she heard one of the voices she deeply wanted to hear more than any other.
“Chel?”

Question: What about the kids? I am worried about Lexx but what about the kids, is Riley going to take care of them too?

Let’s see, that’s probably either Stealth, her dad or her friend that’s calling her.
Worrying will not go well with explaining what she saw during her kidnapping and not exactly forced stay in Trasik’s company.
And thinking about those kids. You could easily see Maenae as being one of them if Lexx wasn’t there for her. Another downer point if Chel starts to think about them again.
