They approached from the same direction instead of trying to trap him between them. Giant barreled toward him, his great leathery wings slapping the air as he closed the distance quickly. Vest hung back, making it clear what they were plotting. Can’t waste everything on him. Energy coursed over Lexx’s arms, gathering in his hands. One blast for each of them and he’d at least knock them back. Their wings had healed from prior attacks but were still their greatest weakness. The other one— An ear-splitting screech sent ice up Lexx’s back, the sound coming from behind him. The whisper of a portal hit his ears beneath the scream. Lexx froze, the energy snapping back within his body as claws slammed into his back.
