The leaves rustled nearby. It wasn’t the wind, which would have moved everything, but a person. Lexx remained hidden, listening. One was on the ground. The other was likely in the air. They were using each other as bait. Hide. The foliage was so thick it would be hard to see him if he didn’t move. Even without using camouflage, they would not see him. Movement would give him away. His shorter opponent, the one wearing a vest, appeared a good distance away. The bigger opponent, Giant, was certainly overhead. Time passed slowly and Lexx regained his strength with each passing second. By the time Vest got to him, he was ready. Vest walked with a scowl on his face, scanning the ground and the trees. Lexx ducked low, holding his breath. Vest and Giant should have the same enhanced senses he did. Still, Vest walked past him without reacting. Because he’s luring me out for Giant to attack. But I know he’s up there. Slowly, Lexx rose from the bushes. Ambush. Palm trees hid him from sight and folded over him as a shield. It would be hard for Giant to get the drop on him. He would have to land. Lexx grinned, not about to make it easy when he didn’t have to. He lifted his hands and unleashed a crackling blast of green-gold energy into the middle of Vest’s back, knocking him forward.
